Within the sprawling walls of a mystical fortress, nestled on the perilous border between the known world and the Abyss, resides a community of powerful wizards and dedicated service providers. These residents are united by their shared purpose: to protect the world outside from the nefarious denizens of the Abyss, where demons lurk and darkness reigns.

Our story centers around the enigmatic figure of a once-mighty mage, who, in a desperate act of self-sacrifice, exhausted every last vestige of their magical abilities to seal the ancient gateway leading to the Abyss. As a result, this mage willingly became ordinary, forsaking their mystical prowess to instead devote years to honing their physical abilities.

The tranquility of the fortress was disrupted when the Abyss's ominous gate was unexpectedly torn asunder, casting the realm into turmoil. This event, shrouded in mystery, has sent shockwaves through the community. It has brought forth whispers of an encroaching darkness, one that threatens to swallow both the fortress and the world beyond.

Amidst the chaos, a magical call reverberates through the fortress, resonating with the very core of our protagonist's being. The call beckons the mage, now stripped of their magical essence, to embark on a perilous journey of discovery. With little more than determination and their newfound physical prowess, they must confront the unknown and unravel the enigma behind the resurgence of the Abyss.

For the mage, this quest carries a twofold purpose: not only to safeguard the fortress and the realm but also to seek the means to reclaim the magical abilities they sacrificed, even if it means facing deadly creatures that now roam the fortress's once-secure halls. With courage and hope as their guiding lights, the mage steps into the shadowy abyss of uncertainty, determined to restore the balance and uncover the truth that lies beyond the portal's resurgence.

I’m planning to make decorations destructible and add some VFX to the combat system

This is a quote from him, "Well I suppose my suggestion would be frame the world around the characters choices, given the past is something to learn from he should make the real message that what he was then might not be enough to "seal" the rift completely. Also some history for the building you start in... it was a bit strange to have the crypt above the starting area"

It's a good start, but still quite rough. A bit boring to play is my primary point: no music, not enough impact when hitting enemies, and it's just whacking enemies with a stick for too long. You also introduce more difficult enemies quite early on. What's your main "hook", the main reason should play this game and not one of the thousands of combat-explore-puzzle MV's out there?

Personally I'm bothered by having so many buttons, feels like you should be able to combine some? Like one button for slot switching and one for using the item/spell in that slot. But that's just me.

Lastly, I think there's still lot of quality of life missing. Save points don't heal you, many buttons/mechanics aren't explained, bread heals for basically nothing, enemies don't instantly drop items so you need to wait/run back to get drops, ladders are hard to grab from above, etc. Really try to get those small things right, they add up. Good luck!
